be purchased in the international ports. "A composition of
flour, cheese, yolks of eggs, sugar, and saffron, reduced to a
paste, and formed into long slender pieces like worms, by forciing
it with a piston through a number of little holes." (Samuel
Johnson) It is not served as a pasta dish, but used in puddings
and soups.
